Ye or Nay ยท Effective October 30, 2026
Ye or Nay is a quote-guessing game. It has no accounts, no ads and no tracking. This page explains the little data the app does handle.
What stays on your phone
Your scores, streaks, settings and the list of quotes you've already seen are saved on your device only. We never receive them. Deleting the app deletes them.
Anonymous gameplay statistics
To learn which quotes are too easy or too hard, the app sends anonymous gameplay events to TelemetryDeck, a privacy-focused analytics service based in the EU:
- which quote or trivia question you answered, and whether you got it right
- your score at the end of a round, how many cards it had, and the game mode
These events carry a random ID that the app creates on install and scrambles (hashes) before sending, so it can't be traced back to you, your device or your Apple ID. We don't collect your name, email, contacts, location or advertising identifier, and we don't combine this data with anything else or share it with advertisers or data brokers.
Game Center
If you're signed in to Game Center, your best streak is sent to Apple's Game Center leaderboard under your Game Center nickname. Apple runs Game Center under Apple's privacy policy. You can sign out of Game Center in the Settings app at any time.
Quote updates
At launch the app downloads the latest quote list from GitHub Pages. Like any web server, GitHub briefly sees your IP address to deliver the file; see GitHub's privacy statement. The app sends nothing else in that request.
Children
Ye or Nay isn't directed at children under 13, and we don't knowingly collect personal information from anyone.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update this page and the date at the top.
